In a head-to-head study on identical sheep faecal samples, OvaCyte returned counts closer to the true egg concentration
than McMaster (mean accuracy 72% vs 45%), with tighter repeatability (CV 5.6–40% vs 20–60%) and markedly better
detection of light infections — picking up eggs in every sample at ~150 EPG where McMaster missed half of them.
